An Open Letter To Terrorists

  Dear Osama and Friends...

OK, look. What you've done over the years is inexcusable. You've killed innocent people of all nationalities, races, religions, etc. For this, you will be brought to justice.

But look. You're aiming at the WRONG PEOPLE. We average Americans have no bearing on what goes on in your world, nor do many of us even care. We're too wrapped up in our own problems to worry about the fact that you can't handle Western influence in your part of the world, and that it miffs you. We simply don't give a rat's ass about you people. So, when you kill a few thousand of us regular folk, it has an impact, yes, but not the one you'ld like. It only makes us pissy.

So now, I have a request, which is actually two-fold. First of all, STOP TARGETING INNOCENT PEOPLE! And start targeting the ones who are responsible for your ire, the ones that are behind Westernizing your part of the world.

AIM YOUR WEAPONS AT 1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE. Do us all a favor and take out George W. Bush and the pundits in Washington. It is THEIR FAULT that American forces are poking their noses where they don't belong, because the higher-ups believe they're doing what's right. Half the time, they're clouded by religion (hence the Israel problem), and the rest of the time, they attack nations that are little or no threat to us (aka Iraq). What they should be doing is attacking North Korea, who CAN hurt us with nuke-tipped ICBMs capable of reaching the west coast of the US.

It's not our fault that our leaders are overzealous morons. It's their own fault. Those people who elect these morons to power are innocent, just blinded by rhetoric and lies, and let their belief in Jesus cloud their judgment. So hey, how about targeting the RIGHT people for once, eh? Please? You won't be pardoned for the first WTC bombing, 9/11, or any other incident which killed innocents. But you WILL be doing those of us in our right minds a HUGE favor. Target President Bush. PLEASE.

Sincerely, Eric Jacobson, Regular American Citizen who is sick of the lies and BS coming out of our false leader...

Another Year Older...

Another birthday come and gone. 27. Wow. Yay.

[wil] once [said this] in an old WWdN post:

I remember when I was freaking out about hitting my 30s. I talked with one of my friends who was in her late 30s, and she told me, "Don't obsess about this too much, Wil. Your 30s are so much better than your 20s. Your 20s are spent gathering information about your world and yourself, and your 30s are spent enjoying the benefits of that information."

Back when I read that entry, I was a 25, and 30 still seemed like a distant milestone. Now, here I am, over two years later, and I find myself thinking about these words that were spoken to him, and his thoughts following them all over again. Three years to go. I've spent my time gathering my information, and have a trifecta left to assimilate (no pun intended, Wil) whatever else I can.

But there's one thing that escapes me. The one thing I can't seem to figure out. You all know what it is, because you all know how I am. If you don't, there's a link below you should see. Anyway, I'm still searching for it. Still waiting for that last elusive piece to the emotional puzzle of life.

Maybe, in four years when I turn 31, I'll look back at this entry and smile. Maybe I'll be in the same boat. Hell, I could be dead by then, who knows. All I know is this. The rollercoaster keeps barreling down the tracks with no end to the ride in sight. Who knows what will come of all this. That's the real fun in life. It has enough surprises, both good and bad, to keep things interesting.

The flop is out, and I haven't caught a single card. Short Stack is betting 100 for the turn, and now I have to decide if I call, or if I throw them in. You know what? I have a few hundred dollar chips left. What the hell, right? Right...
