A.M.
Mayhem
You know, Carrot Top (before he was the CallATT
monkey) used to host a morning cartoon show by the name of A.M.
Mayhem, back in the early days of [cartoon
network] . Which, it just so happens, is before we had it
here on cable. Oh well. At least now I get [adult
swim] instead...
The [jmp]
earlier was HILLARIOUS! They started late, then had issues with
the phone system for the first hour. John damn near popped a
vein! But then they got the phone working and did a killer interview
with the Bitter Bears people. An interview that ranks up there
with John's interview of Vince Desi of Postal/RwS fame. [erina]
joined in on the fun for the first time, and she chose a good
night to watch the Free.
The countdown has begun officially begun to the
Party of the Year. All I can say is it will deffinately involve
Tempered Edge, Bad Idea, three birthdays and a wedding party.
Just one more thing needs to fall into place, and plans go into
official overdrive mode. Maybe I can talk Grinder into showing
up, too
Anyway, time to play some [simslots].
Nothing better than getting a gambling fix and not losing or
gaining any real money. Some people don't understand that, though...

Farking
Tripod... >:(
In case some of you haven't noticed, Tripod (and
its parent company, Terra-Lycos) has decided to slap an ad on
my page without telling me, and to make matters worse, they
decided that it should go right overtop of my title bar. Needless
to say, I'm pissed.
Here in the near future, I'm going to raise funds
and get myself some paid hosting. This whole Pop-Up and Banner
Ad thing is really pissing me off, and it's time I had my own
space. The Ranch has been around for six years now, and that's
long enough to exist on the combination of Geocities and Tripod.
If I do get my own hosting, then I won't have to
worry about ads (unless I decide to sell them myself) for a
whole two years. Won't that be nice...
Oh yeah, before I forget: You're Welcome, Christy
;)

Oh
yeah, I'd Hit It!
Well, everyone thank Christy, because it's her fault
that I got the I'd Hit It Gallery up and running! Go check iIt
out!

OK,
So I Fibbed. A Little...
OK. So, on Monday, I said the "I'd Hit It"
Gallery would be ready to go Tuesday. Well, here it is, Wednesday,
and the gallery isn't ready to go yet. My bad. Feel free to
smack me upside my melon.
However, I will have it ready to go today. I've
got nothing to do at all tonight, so I'll have plenty of time
to get some images together and put the Gallery up.

Let
There Be Galleries!
And the Eric said "Let There Be Galleries,"
and there were galleries, and he saw that it was minimal, but
still good.
The first of the [galleries]
is born this day, and it just so happens to be the [fark
photoshop entry]. Only two images so far, but if you know
about the [jmp],
then you get the idea. The "I'd Hit It!" Gallery should
be ready to go tomorrow.
I'd also like to announce that Wiccan Ink, the blog
by one of my [yahoo!
chat] friends, is now online! Check out her rantings, ravings,
and general lunacy!

The
Crystal Ball Says...
It's time to announce some Coming Attractions
here at Rancho Relaxo! First of all, the entry below has inspired
the first of the Galleries, which will be called "I'd
Hit It!" and will feature girls that I know, along with
the Dancing Banana rating system!
Second, I'm considering opening a section devoted
solely to Photoshop Contest entries at [fark].
I can't host the images here and post them there, but I can
sure as hell put them here and link to the page they're on!
It'll also be in the Galleries section.
So look for these new sections very soon! And,
to get things started, I'll show you my first creation for
the [fark]
section, which has also been submitted to the [jmp]
for their JPG of the Week feature.

In
Memory Of Troy...
Tonight was the 4th Annual Boyd-A-Thon. It's a party
thrown every year to remember the lead singer of House Rules,
Troy McCartney. Troy died in a motorcycle crash nearly five
years ago. So, bands from the area get together, play, and party
in the name of Troy.
Bad Idea, Tugger, Chaos, Grinder and more gathered
at Electric Avenue tonight, and it was a GREAT show! Every band
did a killer job, and we consumed mass quantities of beer. No
fights, just lots of love from everyone!
And me? I got to jump on stage, this time
with Chris, Joe and the rest of Grinder for a killer rendition
of Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness." Fun! Let
out a ton of testosterone and anger in that one little song,
and boy do I feel better! We raised lots of money for the Troy
McCartney Memorial Music Scholarship, too! Thanks to the dude
who bought the auctioned Boyd-A-Thon T-Shirt for a whopping
$40 during the mini-auction at the end of the night!

To
Karaoke, Or Not To Karaoke...
It's Friday. Anyone who knows me at all knows that
Friday means two things for me: One, it's usually the only night
of the week that I'll go out and drink. And two, it's Karaoke
night at several bars in my area. Usually, I'm found at Electric
Avenue doing Karaoke, and sometimes I'll head over to Mary's
Place in Clearfield for Karaoke with Tag.
But after Justin's little cancelling stunt, I'm
not sure I want to go there. Granted, yes, my friends go there,
and I do want to see them. But I also have my loyalty to the
band, and the show that was to take place tomorrow night was
to be our biggest yet. Getting screwed out of that has certainly
pissed both us and Bad Idea off, and has led me to enact a small,
personal boycott of the Avenue.
So what will I do? Honestly, I don't really know
yet. It's only a quarter til three, I have about 7.5 hours to
decide. Maybe I'll go to Mary's, who knows...

When
The Lights Go Down
If you didn't hear about the Northeast Blackout
situation, then what are you doing reading this Blog? No terrorists
this time, just what happens when you let big business run
utilities into the damn ground...
Cleaned up quite a bit today, gave my living area
a pretty complete overhaul. Looks alot better now. I can actually
move around freely, and all my computer junk is now stored
in the closet. Handy space reclaiming tactic, I think...

Am
I Nocturnal?
Now that I'm putting post times on my entries,
I realize that I make alot of entries around 2am. I should
be asleep. Oh well.
[erina]
is all happy now that she graces the top of the Friends menu
over there. She'll be really happy to know that her name will
be forever linked when I mention her here now, too. I'm just
happy she's keeping (or trying to, at least) a blog at all.
Tech isn't quite her strongest suit, so I try to help when
I can. Trick is, though, she's a Mac user...
Instead of the gig at Electric Avenue, Tempered
Edge will be having a practice session this Saturday evening.
Good. A chance for me to get this song idea down and started.
I've got a good feeling about it, that I do...

This
Might Be The One...
I gone and done it. I finally wrote what I feel
will be "that" song. Eight years of happiness, sorrow,
joy and frustration all at once. This might turely be the one
that sets the bar for things to come...
Oh yeah. New thing. After visiting [erina's
blog] , and revisiting [wil's],
I've decided to post times and such for when I post these entries.
Just a little more detail in an otherwise dull blog. He he he.
Also added the "Friends" menu there on the right.
If you want to get your page listed there, check out This Page...

Where
Did My Sanity Go?
Oh well. Here I am again, sitting in Clearfield,
babysitting for Breann. She's in New York with John, and her
mom has been watching the boys. But now, it's my turn.
The one good thing about babysitting for Breann
is the fact that there are a small number of hotties in this
neck of the woods. I can go outside, sit on the porch (if you
can call it a porch), and gawk to my heart's content. Fun.
So, for right now, the boys are in bed, taking a
nap. And thank the maker for that. If they didn't, I'd have
to put up with "can we go outside?" and then, 5 minutes
later, they'll want to come inside, then 5 minutes after that,
back outside; it's a neverending cycle. I'll probably get bored
and update again here through the course of the day, so stay
tuned... |

Ugh.
Just Ugh.
Rain. Floods. And me, caught in the middle as the
fire company worked to pump water out of the basements of the
members of our community. Fun fun. But hey, it's why I signed
up for the job: doing my part for society.
No dice for the show on Saturday. Justin is adamant.
I don't know why, though. He's never going to steal business
away from the Road Trip Lounge at the Days Inn. And besides,
DJs suck ass. They never play any Rock. Just a whole bunch of
Rap by guys who don't deserve record deals. Stupid crap, too.
If you're gonna play Rap, play me some Run DMC!
Hey. If you visit, please sign the Guestbook! It
lets me know who's all been here (since I can't afford real
site tracking services), and is also an oppertunity for you
all to tell me what you think! Do it! Do it, damnit, do it!
Please? Heh... |

Time
To Push! (IMPORTANT!)
So Justin cancled all bands at the Avenue for the
rest of the year. Fine, we can live with that.
What we can't live with is the fact that we were
supposed to be told a week ago. I got no such message. Now I
find out last night, after spending a week at the fair handing
out fliers to over 500 people, walking several dozen miles (without
really going anywhere) in the process, and even schmoozed a
local radio DJ into showing up. Add in the help I got handing
fliers out (thanks you guys), and that's quite a few man hours
and miles hitting the pavement to promote a show.
And I can't let that go for not. We've been planning
and promoting this show for well over a month now. We upgraded
our equiplent. Word of mouth advertising. The fliers at the
fair. Alot of effort has been put into this show (and all future
shows with regards to equipment) . We've recruited every friend
we possibly can to come support us and spend money at Electric
Avenue. We've gone out and gotten to people we don't even know
to be aware of the show.
Bad Idea is being kind enough to do two things.
Open for us, and bring their crowd, wich in itself is a rather
strong contingent, mostly from this local area. They're getting
their fans to come to the Avenue and support both bands, not
to mention spend money. To us, that's a huge favor.
Joe and Chris from Grinder (formerly Shiver Me Timbers)
have the weekend off, and have made plans to bring some of their
friends to the show as well. Grinder has a good crowd following
them, too.
In short, not letting our show go on wouldn't be
good financial sense for Justin.
So here's what we're asking you to do. Call Electric
Avenue at (814) 378-6061 starting today, August 8th, up until
Saturday, August 16th, 2003 (the night of the show) and tell
them you want Bad Idea and Tempered Edge to play! If you plan
on going, tell them so. It's time for the local music consumer's
voice to be heard!
All week long, I'll be out letting the local area
know of our predicament. Tonight, I'm going to the Avenue to
try and convince Justin to let us play. If I fail tonight, then
my efforts out in the field will only intensify.
Just like Freddy Mercury said...
The Show Must Go On |

God
Damnit!
Electric Avenue has cancled all bands for the rest
of 2003 in favor of a DJ on Saturday Nights. Which means our
show is cancled. That sucks ass... |

A
Black Flag Flies...
Rancho Relaxo, and especially me, is sad to announce
the passing of Jason Jamerson, known to his friends as "Cordish."
Jason was a good man, and was taken from us way to early. My
heart is with his family and friends tonight.
Vaya con dios, hermano... |

Fair
Week Recap
The 2003 Clearfield County Fair is in the books
(well, later today it will be), and boy, am I beat. A week of
fliers, parades, carnies and ex-girlfriends, not to soon be
forgotten.
Monday, I went to the parade (as detailed in the
previous entry) and handed out over 300 fliers along the parade
route. Hopefully, even a fraction of those will show up at the
Avenue on the 16th.
Tuesday saw me hitting the fair just because I was
bored. Strange thing about that day was hanging out with Erina.
Oh well, all was well, and we had a good time. I took Wednesday
off so I could relax, and went swimming. Good stuff.
Thursday I again hit the fair, again with Erina.
She even came to the old homestead and picked me up! We hung
out most of the night at the fairgrounds, then I returned to
Breann's to get some sleep and prepare to launch my Friday.
Friday, I went home, snagged the pickup truck, and printed
out 200 more fliers. Headed to the fair and walked around by
myself most of the night, picking up with people at random as
I saw them. Travo, Travis and Gary of Bad Idea were on hand
and helped pass out fliers as well. The rest of the night was
devoted to my age old pasttime, chick spotting. Talked with
some people I haven't seen in years, and then, around 3am, I
headed home. Long night, let me tell you.
Now I get to sit here for the next 24 hours, babysitting
Breann's boys. Fun fun, let me tell you. But it's all good,
keeps me away from home for a while. Hopefully some people will
come visit me... |
